2019 Livingston County Grant Recipients

Congratulations to this year’s Decentralization Grant Winners! We appreciate all of your hard work in our community and your dedication to arts and culture.

The Arc of Livingston Wyoming – A Different Point of View: This program will give individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities the ability to show their point of view of the world through the art of photography

Avon Community Theatre – Avon Community Theatre will sponsor the 21st Summer Music Theatre Camp for students entering grades 3-College during summer 2019

Dansville ArtWorks Inc. – Performing Arts Series: Ten-month series of performing arts events on the fourth Friday of each month (February-November), featuring artists and an open mic period where audience members are welcome to offer family-friendly performances.

Dansville ArtWorks Inc. – Chalk Walk & Arts Fest: a public, multi-generational and interactive event that utilizes visual art (sidewalk chalk art), music and opportunities to explore other art mediums to build community.

Dansville ArtWorks Inc. – Fairy Doors of Dansville: Located in the business district and in the trees of one of the village parks, Fairy Doors of Dansville is a very unique, free and accessible art installation of creative little fairy doors appealing to all age levels, aimed at stimulating imagination and creativity by providing maps to guide the public to each location, while also periodically offering free art activities and events tied in with this theme.

Geneseo Central Presbyterian Church/ Genesee Valley Children’s Choir – GVCC will share their voices in two inspiring/ themed concerts of a wide range of styles, held at Central Presbyterian Church in Geneseo, including exceptional guest artists that bring enjoyment in the spirit of our mission as an ensemble of high quality available to children of Livingston County.

Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation – Clay on Wheels: Participants will have the opportunity to express themselves artistically and create unique works of art using clay and glazes and pre-formed bisque ware.

Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation – Senior GLEE CLUB: Providing an active, inclusive, enjoyable and accessible musical outlet for senior citizens (persons of 60 or more years) using choral singing to improve the quality of life. We welcome senior singers of all ability and experience levels. “Even if you have to carry a tune in a bucket, you are welcome to join us!”

Little Lakes Community Association – Voices of Veterans: To celebrate the contributions of our Armed Service veterans, especially women and those within our local communities, through their stories of personal sacrifice and triumphs, presented as drama, story telling and personal accounts.

Town of Geneseo – Fiddler’s Picnic: A day-long musical showcase featuring performances of old-time county, folk, and other home-spun, traditional styles of song.

Town of Geneseo/ Good Neighbor Committee of Geneseo – Keyboard Kamp: A group music program that helps children and seniors experience the joy of learning piano, voice and or guitar.

Town of West Sparta- A series of four, free, musical performances by local bands held in our new town park pavilion with audience members encouraged to bring a picnic supper to enjoy while they listen to live music.

Village of Leicester – Gabezo Concert Series in the Village Park, June-September.

Village of Mount Morris – This permanent, interactive wall mural will invoke the patriotic spirit of our community and while connecting with the greater Inspiration Trail of Livingston County.

Wadsworth Library – Introducing the Arts will provide several different arts-related activities at Wadsworth Library, all of which will be open to the public




John Rutigliano: Historical Drama – Mt. Morris Tuberculosis Hospital

Creation of a historical drama based on the lives of three nurses at the Mount Morris Tuberculosis Hospital in the 1930’s that uses theatre to explore the history of the Mount Morris Hospital in our local community.

Ted Canning/ York & Dansville Central School – 

As part of a comprehensive and cross-curricular Latin American Studies Unit, and collaborating with the 5th Grade Chorus, teaching Artist Ted Canning will lead the 5th grade students in an exploration of the history and culture of Caribbean populations (British, French, and African influences) through the music of the Trinidadian Steelband, culminating with two concerts on full-sized genuine Steel Drums and African drums.

Jesse Sprinkle/ Avon School District – 

Bricks That Build is a musical endeavor that is rooted in “building up” relationships through promoting and encouraging qualities such as compassion, persistence, bravery and a positive mindset.

Pam Hill/ LCCNR – 

Free craft night one night a week to the residents at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation to give them an opportunity to meet new people, keep them active, motivated and independent while learning more visual Arts and Crafts, while improving hand eye coordination.
