Welcome to the Individual Artists Grant page!
The Individual Artists Grant, part of the Decentralization Program (DEC) of The New York State Council on the Arts, is administered by the Genesee Valley Council on the Arts to encourage and promote individual artist’s projects to enhance cultural vibrancy in Livingston and Monroe Counties.
Four $2,500 grants are available to artists interested in creating new work within a community context. These competitive grants are based on the artistic merit of work samples, a strong interface between the community and the creative process, and a clearly defined, innovative project.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, have resided in Livingston or Monroe County for at least one year before the application deadline, and not be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program. Please review the Individual Artist Guidelines on our “Forms and Documents” page to ensure you or your project is eligible for funding.
Applicants must consult directly with the Program Coordinator before applying. Assistance in developing a program and writing your grant is available by contacting the Program Coordinator, at 585.243.6785 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
To apply, please fill out the form at the Apply Here! page and upload the necessary supporting documentation to complete your application. When uploading, remember that your file sizes must be under 1.4MB. If you have a file that is larger than that, please email Melissa (email@example.com) to discuss options.
Once you are ready, hit the ‘submit’. You may also hit the ‘save and return later’ to save your work until you are ready to complete the process.
